This week I had the first case in history of raisin toxicity ever seen at MedVet. My patient was a 56-pound, 5 yr old male neutered lab mix that ate half a canister of raisins sometime between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM on Tuesday. He started with vomiting, diarrhea and shaking about 1AM on Wednesday but the owner didn'lt call my emergency service until 7AM.

CKC Board of Directors Responds to FCI

On December 30, 2006, under the signature of the CKC Board, a letter was forwarded to Mr. Hans Müller, President, Fédération Cynologique Internationale. The letter expresses sincere regret for the events leading to the FCI Circular 125. The correspondence indicates that appropriate actions have been taken to ensure there is no repetition of such an unfortunate and embarrassing incident.

CKC to raise fees 6% in 2007

On December 16, 2006 CKC posted an Official Announcement to their Web-site.
At the regular meeting of the board in December 2006, a fee increase of six percent (6%) was approved for all Registration Fees. The increase will take effect start April 1, 2007.

Updated FCI

CKC Chair, Dwain McLean, Director Ms. Lee Steeves, and CEO Joe Mauro held extensive and lengthy discussions with the FCI Executive Committee and Executive Director Mr. De Clercq over the course of this past weekend at the Eukanuba Invitational in California. The discussions regarding FCI Circular 125 were cordial and frank.
