When it comes to white on the chests of our Tervs, how large of a fault is too much?
From the standard:
“A small white patch is permitted on the chest but should not extend into the neck or breast.”
Now, would white that does come into the neck or breast be considered just a deviation and covered under “fault”, or would it be considered a colour combination not permitted in the standard and therefore a disqualification?

Right after Christmas of 2007, I received a phone call asking if I could rescue a female Malinois. The bitch was dropped of at the Sudbury shelter. A man had adopted her for 3 weeks but soon realized that the honeymoon period was over and that the Mal could not tolerate his cat any longer. He didn’t wish to bring the dog back to the shelter because he didn’t feel that the staff was not doing such a good job in taking care of the dog. So he got my name from another member of the BSDCC and got a hold of me. So I made arrangements to go and pick up this girl in Coniston which is very close to Sudbury. Upon my arrival, I could tell that this girl was a purbred Belgian. So I took her in. After a month at my place, she develop a tumor on her chest that was developing quite rapidly. She needed emergency surgery right away. She had been seen by my vet on the friday and she was scheduled for surgery first thing on Monday morning. In the meantime, I had located her breeder. Unfortunately, the breeder didn’t want to have nothing to do with this girl. He didn’t offer to help pay for her expenses or her upcoming surgery. The FIRST surgery went fine but after a week, the tumor seemed to have come back so a SECOND surgery was needed immediately. The biopsy results came back negative. The Mal’s tumor was not malignant! That was such a relief. But this relief was short lived! Now I am stuck with a huge vet bill for this rescue. I didn’t dare approach the BSCSS rescue again because my first contact was a very disappointed one.
It seems that rescue only reimburse the expense of pulling out a dog out of a shelter and then that is where it all ends. I think that is absolutely ridiculous. When I first submitted my gaz expenses and food that amount to close to 300.00$, I was told that those expenses were not usually covered by the rescue organization. I was flipping my lid here. Every year I have been giving money to the rescue organization and now that I needed to be helped out for a rescue I couldn’t be help for stupid policies. I finally did get reimburse my gaz and food expenses but what about the vet bill? I haven’t submitted it because it looks like the rescue organization will not cover that portion of the expense. This is my first rescue experience and I have to say that it will probably be my last. The double surgery came close to 1000.00$. I had to ask complete strangers if they had any spare change to help me pay for this girl’s surgeries!!!!! Though I did receive donations from very generous souls, it did not cover the entire expenses for this girl!!!!! I think that is more than shameful that I was able to get donations from complete strangers but I could not get money from my own club in the rescue department! I mean, why do we collect donations from members for rescue if the money collected is not to reimburse and help out members that do rescue??????????????? I am not impress with this entire situation and I hope that the Club will seriously take a look at how and what the rescue money is actually for!!!!!
